BWC Honors and Results

 

 

  • 6/14/09 - PAWF States! 7 Bellefonte wrestlers attended PA's Freestyle and Greco Roman State Tournament held at Shippensburg University from 6/12/09 to 6/14/09. We had all 7 of them place either in freestyle or greco or both. Great job guys! To hightlight the weekend we had 3 wrestlers qualify for Nationals at Fargo, ND by placing in the top 3 in their freestyle weight classes! Congratulations to JR Wert, Nate Alterio and Brad Grieb as they move on to Fargo! Below are results from the weekend.

  • 5/30/09 - Milford Duals! JR Wert(3-2), Nate Alterio(3-3), Brad Grieb(5-0), Dan Dreibelbis(5-0), Jake Perryman(1-4), Leo Wortman(2-1), and Garrett Poorman(2-3) competed under the NLWC. The team finished in 2nd place going 4-1 on the day! Very good tournament. Good competition and a good mix of kids from PA, NY and NJ. Good job guys!

 

  • 5/25/09 - CONGRATULATIONS to our 3 wrestlers who competeed in the NHSCA Duals in Salisbury, Md over Memorial Day weekend. JR Wert (went 6-0 for the S.V. River Boyz, Middle School Div.), Leo Wortman (wrestled for Renegade Force, High School Div.); Chase Gardner (went 6-2 for the Tiny Terps, Elementary Div.). Good Job boys!

 

  • 5/3/09 - CONGRATULATIONS to our 2 MAWA Eastern National Champions JR Wert and Coach Cook! Five other Bellefonte wrestlers medaled as well. Leo Wortman (4th); Ryan Smith (5th); Brad Grieb (7th); Brock Port (8th); and Cole Steward (8th)

 

 

  • 4/25/09 - CONGRATS to our 2 OTofC Champions Garrett Poorman and Shane Alterio! Also, placing was Lane Aikey(3rd) and Trevor Corl(6th). Also, competing in the tournament was: Ryan Smith; Luke Leathers; Nate Rosenberger; Colin Wesley; Devin Walk; Tyler Ashpole; Nick Shawley; Dakota Bair

 

  • 4/18/09 - Mitchell Port goes 6-1 at the York Duals. He wrestled for the PA Team that finished in 1st place with an 7-0 record. Good

 

  • 4/11/09 - 16 Bellefonte wrestlers compete at our own PAWF Freestyle/Greco Qualifier. Of those, 14 qualified for the PA State Freestyle/Greco Tournament held at Shippensburg Univ this year on June 12th thru the 14th.

    4/4/09 - Mitchell Port (119) wins the champsionship at the NHSCA Junior Nationals held at Virginia Beach! Congrats to Mitch on being Bellefonte's first Junior National champion. Brad Grieb (160) also earned All-American honors by placing 7th in the Sophomore Division.

    8/14/08 - The Weaver Elite Duals @Bethlehem Catholic High School was held August 9th. JR Wert and Colin Wesley wrestled for the Susquahanna River Boys. JR Wert was 4-1 and Colin Wesley was 2-3. Congrats to both JR and Colin!!

 

    8/14/08 - The Sports Air Dome Wrestling Duals was held July 11th and 12th. JR Wert wrestled for Hughesville High and finish up with a 7-1 record. Great job JR!!

 

    7/25/08 - This is Day 3 of Cadet Freestyle competition. Mitchell Port @119 and Dan Driebelbis @130. You can track them at www.trackwrestling.com. Below are some quick updates:

    Freestyle Day 1: Mitchell went 6-0; Dan finished 2-2

    Freestyle Day 2: Mitchell won two more matches and is now 8-0. This gets him to the medal round!

    Freestyle Day 3: Mitch went 1-2 today, 9-2 overall and finish 5th!! Mitchell Port is a National Freestyle All-American! Outstanding job!!

 

    7/16/08 - The 4th Fest 4K was a huge success for our BW family! We had, at last count, 26 runners that participated. I have BW results posted HERE. Results should also be out on: (http://www.4thfest.org/).

 

    7/16/08 - Mitchell Port and Dan Dreibelbis will be leaving for Cadet Nationals in Fargo, ND later this week!!! This is a freestyle/greco national competition. The best kids from around the country will be there. GOOD LUCK guys!!! We are proud of you!!

 

    6/30/08 - Mitchell Port, Shane Alterio and Christian Oberle all do well at the Disney Duals. Mitch went 9-2, Shane was 8-5 and Christian was 2-1 before getting injured(he'll be ok). The Bellefonte wrestling family is proud of your efforts and continued successes. Keep up the good work.     6/15/08 - We had 7 Bellefonte wrestlers compete at the PAWF State Freestyle/Greco tournament this past weekend. Congratulations to Mitchell Port and Dan Dreibelbis as they will be moving on to Cadet Nationals in Fargo ND!! Christian Oberle placed 4th in freestyle. He could still get an invite to participate. Brock Port placed 1st in greco and 3rd in freestyle. Shane Alterio, Nate Alterio and Leo Wortman did not place.

 

    6/7/08 - Five Bellefonte wrestlers attended the PAWF qualifier at Lewistown on this day. All 5 did qualify, if they already haven't before, for PA States this coming weekend at Blue Mountain High School. Dan Driebelbis, Nate Alterio, Brad Grieb, Leo Wortman, and Brock Port. GOOD LUCK AT STATES boys!!!!!
