Hello! My name is Dr. Emel and I am a math teacher at Bellefonte Area High School. I am a 2011 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. I earned my Masters Degree in 21st Century Teaching and Learning from Wilkes University in 2016 and my Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction also from Wilkes University in May 2023. This will be my 12th year at BAHS, but my 14th year of teaching. I am originally from Chalfont, Pennsylvania, which is located in Bucks County, PA. Some interesting facts about me are that I was in the Penn State Blue Band for four years, I ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 2018, and my greatest friends in life I met in high school.

On the personal side, I got married in July 2019 and had my first child, a little girl named Enslee, in July 2020. I also had my son, Thomas, in June 2022. I am currently pregnant with my third baby, a little boy due in early November.

This year I will be teaching Algebra 2, Honors Geometry, and Geometry. I have high expectations for both my students and myself, so be ready to be challenged but to have fun in the process!
