Title I reading program

Title I is a federally funded educational program designed to supplement local and state funds for education. A school qualifies for federal Title I funds based on the school's number of economically disadvantaged students. Bellefonte Area School District's Title I program is a federally funded supplemental education program that provides assistance to children in grades K-8 who are experiencing difficulty with reading. The purpose of the program is to help students develop proficient reading skills by providing additional learning time and specialized instruction.
