Congratulations to the BAMS and BAHS Destination Imagination teams! All three teams placed first (across teams from Pennsylvania) at the tri-state tournament held in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday, March 16th. Each team selected a unique STEAM Challenge and worked together all year to develop a solution.
Our middle school level team competed in the Blast from the Past challenge, which required them to design and create a puppet using technical methods that portrayed a character from the past. They also had to create and present a story about a character whose discovery of an artifact led to a finding.
One of our high school level teams competed in the Going the Distance challenge, which required them to design and build a modular device that was assembled and then tested in two different configurations. They also had to create and present a story in which everything is going according to plan until a catalyst occurs.
Our other high school team competed in the Pinball Heroes challenge, which required them to design and build a pinball system through which a pinball moves and interacts with 3 machine modules. They also had to create and present an adventure story about a hero who goes on an extraordinary mission.
BASD is incredibly proud of all three teams and can't wait to see what challenges are offered as part of next year's program! For more information about Destination Imagination check out https://www.destinationimagination.org/
