Recently, BAHS senior - Zack Laubach, earned a place within the PennDot Young Ambassadors program in which the initiative aims “to cultivate a new generation of community stewards and civic leaders focused on maintaining the state’s ecological health.” He is one of the forty junior and senior participants from all across the state.
This is a nine month program that will provide education and training on topics such as litter impacts, waste management, recycling, and civic engagement. Students will also be given opportunities to job shadow to help gain first-hand experience in sustainability practices.
Zach learned about this program through the school counselors and then completed an application that included a teacher recommendation letter. When asked what he is most looking forward to, his response was, “I can't wait for opportunities to come where I help keep PA clean and beautiful.” By the end of the program, Zach hopes to, “...have made a difference somewhere.”
Congratulations to Zach for earning the Young Ambassador position in this program!
