Bellefonte Area High School technology and agriculture teacher, Mrs. Myken Poorman has been recognized as a nominee for the Outstanding Agriculture Teacher and Teacher Mentor awards from the PA Association of Agricultural Educators!
The Two Awards:
The Outstanding Agriculture Teacher Award celebrates the dedication of teachers who foster limitless learning for their students. This award recognizes their role in shaping the future and honors their contributions to developing the next generation of citizens and agricultural leaders. Recipients are recognized for their program development innovation as well as their commitment to lifelong learning.
The Teacher Mentor award is given to those committed to their time and expertise of supporting and celebrating other teachers in the profession. Even though much focus is given to teacher mentoring, mentoring becomes a part of lifelong learning, and this award also highlights those teachers that dedicate their career to advancing the profession through mentoring on all levels including experienced teachers.
Myken was nominated for both of these awards due to her excellent agriculture program, her continuous community involvement, her FFA leadership, and her philosophy on education. Congratulations Mrs. Poorman on being nominated for these tremendous awards!
