Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for many families to find time for a healthy breakfast. Fortunately, BASD schools offer nutritious school breakfasts, complete with fruit and low-fat or fat-free milk, to ensure students are fueled for learning every school day!
The 2025 National School Breakfast Week (March 3-7) campaign theme, “Clue In to School Breakfast,” reminds the entire school community that school breakfast provides a healthy and energizing start to the day for students. Studies show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to:
· Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
· Score higher on standardized tests
· Have better concentration and memory
· Be more alert
· Maintain a healthy weight
To help celebrate National School Breakfast Week, the School Nutrition Association offers a fun activity guide to do at home with your family! You can find it here:

Day 2 of the PIAA Swimming District Championships was nothing short of electrifying for Bellefonte! With just 7 swimmers on the team who all amazingly qualified for districts, we had 3 more athletes on the podium today, adding to the 2 from yesterday!
Huge shout out to Turner Malik, who crushed his 500 Freestyle by dropping an amazing 27 seconds to secure 4th place, Sydney Fetters for slashing 5.5 seconds off her 100 Backstroke to claim 4th, and Riley Hoy, who smashed her 100 Breaststroke by dropping 3.4 seconds to finish in 3rd place!
What a phenomenal season this has been! These athletes truly deserve a standing ovation!

At the high school in Mrs. Weaver’s Foods classes, the students had their annual Cupcake War. This past semester winners were Sydney Fletcher and Jackson Long with their raspberry cheesecake cupcake with raspberry buttercream. It was delicious!

Yesterday was the first day of PIAA district championships. We had 2 students on the podium, Sydney Fetters finished 5th in the 200 IM and Turner Malik finished 6th in the 50 Free. Good luck to the swimmers on Day 2!
