A few members of the cast of Little Mermaid (BAMS Drama Club) had the opportunity to perform on WTAJ’s Studio 814 on Friday, February 14 to promote their upcoming show! The hosts of the show interviewed several of the cast members and Sydney Halterman and Addison Wynkoop had the opportunity to perform some of the songs from the show as well! The first graders of Benner Elementary celebrated the 101st Day of First Grade by dressing like they were 101 years old. They also did fun math activities that dealt with the number 101!





The Bellefonte Area School District Board of Directors will utilize an ad hoc committee of the Board to consider names for the new elementary school. The Committee will then make a recommendation to the Board for action on April 9, 2025. Suggestions may be received from members of the community, from elected officials, from school district personnel, and from students. Interested contributors should see Policy 701.1, available on the District website, for more information and guidelines. Bellefonte Area High School freshman, Eli Martin, is a member of the Lock Haven Wildlife Leadership Academy program. This program involves a dedication to spread awareness, inspire action, and foster a commitment to conservation. Eli has exhibited this pledge through a number of activities such as teaching others to fish, mentoring friends on hiking and camping trips, learning to carve and paint brook trout from reclaimed wood, learning the art of taxidermy, and processing deer meat into bologna. Eli has also worked to organize an invasive plant removal project that helped to restore native plant communities and support local biodiversity.

The BAHS Raider Revolution team will be hosting its annual Variety Show program on Tuesday, February 25th! The show starts at 7:00PM and located in the high school's theatre. Cost is $5.00 per ticket and all monies are used as a fundraiser for the Raider Revolution program. We hope to see you there!

There will be a School Board Meeting tomorrow evening at the Bellefonte Area Middle School cafeteria. The meeting will begin at 7:00PM and the public is welcome to attend!
The next meeting after Tuesday, will occur on March 4, 2025.


In February, the BAHS sold flowers to help raise money for the Sunshine Foundation. The Sunshine Foundation is a charity that answers the dreams and wishes of children from families with a limited income. These flowers were then delivered to students and staff the week of Valentine’s Day.




A group of Bellefonte employees attended the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference from February 9 - 12, 2025. Teachers, administrators, instructional coaches, and members of our management of information services department joined educators and IT professionals from across the commonwealth. In addition to inspiring speakers, an expo hall filled with the latest hardware, software, and apps, and opportunities to collaborate with other attendees, PETE&C featured dozens of breakout sessions.
Bellefonte was represented in three sessions. BAHS English Teacher Kelley Kreiger and Jackie Wynkoop, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, presented a session on how Brisk AI can be used to provide feedback during the writing process. Instructional Technology Specialist, Arlin Roth, and Elementary Technology Teacher, Jena Jodon, lead Technology Coaches Unite. Mr. Roth was also a panel member for Just for Newbies! - Pete&C Orientation.



10 singers represented BAHS at District 4 Chorus at Huntingdon Area High School last week. Although the festival was shortened by weather, they learned a lot and gave a great concert.

The Varsity Gameday Cheerleading Team Placed 16th in the Nation at the National High School Cheerleading Championships The team competed against schools from across the USA and Hit a solid routine. This is the highest ranking in school history!


The 6th Grade ELA students at BAMS have been working on their independent reading. To showcase their understanding and creativity at the end of the 2nd marking period, students were tasked with creating a project based on their book. They could choose one of three formats: a poster, a diorama, or a comic strip. The students put a lot of effort and passion into these projects. To celebrate the reading, a class gallery walk was performed to allow everyone to view and appreciate the work.

The BAHS Student Council is happy to announce that Austin Smith is the February ELKS Teen of the Month!
Austin Smith embodies the qualities of a well-rounded individual. Academically, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, taking on the challenge of five Advanced Placement courses during his high school career. This rigorous coursework reflects Austin’s commitment to intellectual growth and his ability to set and achieve academic success. Austin has maintained an outstanding academic record, showcasing both discipline and a genuine curiosity for learning.
In addition to academic success, Austin has proven to be a remarkable athlete. As a varsity member of both our soccer and lacrosse teams, he has displayed incredible talent, leadership, and teamwork. Austin’s ability to balance the demands of high-level athletics with rigorous coursework is a reflection of his time management skills and determination. On and off the field, Austin is respected for his sportsmanship, work ethic, and encouragement of others.

All after school activities have been canceled for today, February 12, 2025 due to the inclement weather. All buildings will dismiss at their regular times.


In December, Marion-Walker Elementary hosted their first In the evening, first free holiday movie night! Families were invited and popcorn, cookies, and hot chocolate were provided to all children in attendance and everybody was cozy in pajamas and blankets for watching “Arthur Christmas!” It was a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
